The entities operating as Sedano’s Supermarkets (collectively referred to as “Sedano’s in the rest of this document) are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information.

This Privacy Policy governs the collection and use of your personal information by Sedano’s on this web site, any other web site hosted or branded by Sedano’s, and any application, product or service made available by Sedano’s. The preceding descriptions are collectively referred to as the “Services” in the rest of this document. If you do not agree with any provision of this Privacy Policy, you should immediately discontinue use of the Services.  The use of the Services are not intended for minors.

How we use information we collect

The information Sedano’s collects is used to operate and improve the Services we offer you. We are committed to using your personal information only for:

  •       Monitoring and improving any of our websites and our products and services.
  •       Planning and managing our business activities, including analyzing customers’ shopping habits and preferences.

Cookies and Interest-Based Advertising

“Cookies” are small pieces of information sent by a web server to a web browser which enable the server to collect information from the browser. Sedano’s uses cookies for a number of purposes such as to enable us to simplify the log in process for registered users, help ensure the security and authenticity of registered users, target advertising, provide mechanisms for online shopping and enable traffic monitoring.

We use both session cookies and/or persistent cookies. We use session cookies to make it easier for you to navigate our site. A session cookie expires when you close your browser. A persistent cookie remains on your hard drive for an extended period of time. You can remove persistent cookies by following directions provided in your Internet browser’s “help” file. 

Most browsers allow you to turn off the cookie function. If you want to know how to do this please look at the help menu on your browser. This may restrict the online Sedano’s services you can use.

We employ third-parties to help us understand, and provide the Services.  These third-parties may also deploy cookies on our site and collect information for themselves which is governed by their own privacy policies.  These third party services include but are not limited to online behavioral advertising to personalize and streamline your shopping experience.

 

 

Accessing and Updating your personal information

After you have registered to use Services provided by Sedano’s on a site, you will be provided with access to an “Account” page that will allow you to tailor your communication preferences.  Alternatively, you could also unsubscribe from future communications directly from emails we send to you.

To change your preferences simply click “Sign In” on the top menu bar. Once you have signed in you will see a “My Account” link on the menu bar. Under that link you can update contact information.  If you do not want to receive certain commercial communications from us, please unselect the checkmark in the box nex to “Email List” at the bottom of the page.

Please note that there may be instances where it may be necessary for us to communicate with you.  This communication would be for administrative, operational, or customer service reasons relating to our Services.

 

Personally Identifiable Information we share

We pass your personally identifiable information to our retailer partners (Sedano’s Supermarkets stores) on whose behalf we host or provide digital Services. In addition, we may share your personally identifiable information with third party vendors in order to support our Services or our retailer partners’ services. 

We may also share aggregated, non-personally identifiable information publicly and with third parties.

Sedano’s may display targeted advertisements based on individual activity. Sedano’s does not provide any personally identifiable information to the advertiser when you interact with or view a targeted ad.

We reserve the right to disclose your personally identifiable information as required by law. It may be necessary to share information in order to investigate, prevent, or respond to illegal activities, suspected fraud, or security incidents.

 

Other Websites and Third Party Service Providers

Our website may contain links to other websites and third party service providers which are outside our control and are not covered by this Privacy Policy. If you access other sites using the links provided within the Services or our website, the operators of these sites may collect information from you which will be used by them in accordance with their privacy policy, which may differ from ours.  Any of your information which you share with other websites and/or third party service providers, which are in turn shared with us, shall be governed in accordance with such other website’s or third party service provider’s privacy policy and our agreement with such other website or third party service provider; not via this Privacy Policy.  At no time will we use less than generally commercially acceptable means to protect any information which we may receive in the previously explained manner.

 

Security

We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. We strive to use generally commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, but we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

We reveal only the last four digits of your credit card or debit card number when confirming an order. We also display the last four digits of your credit card on your receipt. These details are stored in our system but the full credit card number is never stored in any of our systems.

 

Alcohol Sales

The use of the Services are not meant for the use of minors.  If an order contains an age restricted item such as alcohol or tobacco, proof of age will be required at the time the order is transferred to you.  The order will not be transferred if proof of age is not able to be verified via the presentation of a valid government issued identification document.  We may require the collection of your date of birth to comply with this requirement which will be maintained in our systems.

 

Changes

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make these updates, we will change the “last updated” date listed at the top of this Policy.
